Arbitrage in Sport Betting

Hii mambo ya SportPesa na kadhalika has actually been on my mind for the last one week, and it all boils done to mathematical probability for each platform. Today morning I remembered card counting which also uses probability to increase your chances of winning…and a bit of luck and figured why cant the same principle be used in these betting platforms. They all seem to have predefined probabilities. If there was a platform/ app and algorithms that would aggregate all these betting platforms and give you the best odds for winning and try derisk as much as possible, is it something you would use find out best places to bet and how? @rianganene and other nerds in the village kujeni mchangie mswada huu, don’t care if the idea is stolen

It can be done using stats of the players, the teams performance, and even weather conditions of the day to calculate the probability of the team’s win or loss. But yeah, it involves a lot of serious math.

Would you use ig? Think historical data for that is available

IG? instagram? ama?

What you are forgetting is the human factor… that shit is random. This is the reason why bookmakers play the betters against each other instead of themselves. This is the reason why those odds change and more people bet on a particular team.

there is some element of randomness but that can be accounted for in the calculations. you take all the information you can find and give it a value. There are guys in the states who use this kind of math to calculate odds in everything from poker to football to boxing…

Teach me more.

was a typo, would you use such a platform?
@Slartibartfast Its aggregating them and doing a calculation to show the best odds and with who among the bookmakers then leave it to you to decide, it can never be 100%

Key word is derisk

Fanya kazi kijana utajirike. Your head will go grey trying the impossible.

My point exactly, there should be a better way than just leaving it to the house and luck. Would you use it?

It’s possible, difficult yes, but still possible

If i could get my hands on one that is reliable, i would. But im not much of a gambler unless i have had a couple of whiskies and i find myself in a casino.

I dont have details. But read this article on how wall street firms use similar stock market software to make sports bets when you have some time:

I should have quoted @nairobilay, my bad. I think your idea is great, but what do you mean when you say.

Is it the smallest odds ama?

Learning something new… will go deeper.

Highest probability of winning

Are you calculating from odds provided by the house or the team statistics?

Some people are slow.

Probably team stats…learn to phrase your questions well
