3D printing: nukisha kitunguu

Wadau who has experience or knowledge on 3D printing small products that Kenyans run to import from China?..is the ROI good to buy one printer at 500k and start manufacturing your products from a small room and earn real money ?
Ama hizi ni chocha za social media but on the ground vitu ni different

3D printing ni expensive to install. You need those gaming laptops na the printer. Some you will need to pay license fee. In dental ni expensive Sana to install. A scanner goes for 800k-1.5m, milling machine for 2-4m na printer ni 800k.

sheegato Una sumbua.

What about the ROI?
Investments can cost a lot of money but the main concern is hiyo pesa itarudisha nini?

Kuna jamaa walianza kitambo…

Pesa iko za dental ukiinstall after two years utakuwa ume break even. But you to have trainings. Cost for set up ya dental 5-7 million.

There is no monopoly of products you can make/print…one can focus on one product only unukishe kitunguu

hizi story zenu zinakaa za base ya jaba… you will be making things that are more expensive than those from china… stima itakukula raw …halafu KRA wakukujie na taxes

Kwanza ukapata ya kutengeneza car spares hapo Una katinga mbaya. Hapo target ni mechanics.

Kama Hauna skill ya kuchora 3d wachana nao

Learning a skill cant take more than some days/weeks
Still unaeza pata open source 3D designs from established companies
I think the only concern is the production …the production will be low compared to cost

AB3D is a kenyan company that makes 3d printers locally. Na wako na bei mzuri.

Kudesign mtu anatumia Autocad

me thinks the money is in manufacturing small high value items

This can work for people in the industrial design/ mechanical engineering field who are working solo. Paying someone who can create a 3d model and operate a printer wouldn’t be cos effective. Most niche markets unfortunately are in the US where people are making everything from light-sabers to gun attachments. If you have the skills mentioned above and follow any local forums that require custom products then you can make a killing.

You are better off dealing with the open source route. Learning how to 3d takes alot longer than days/weeks/months

Duka za mali kwa mali would really push your margins. Every town has those shops selling buckets, karais, soap dishes etc all plastic

You dont invest in 3D printing to start making karai and dishes .hizo ni vitu basic
You look for fast moving brilliant invention that can make you land with a bang in the marktet
