3s-GE Swapped toyota vista

Nimeona offer ya KAY, gari iko sawa. Year 2000 station wagon at 500k. It needs minor repair kwa electricals(dash board ni digital na side mirrors ziko broken zimekuwa fixed na glue.
He found someone gari imemlemea iko grounded. So be bought it dirt cheap (200k) changed the engine to 3s-ge and its transmission with the ecu. Is it a worthy deal to buy it from him at 500k? And can someone point out kama 1az-fe would be better?
Ps the car jerks ukiweka gear drive but other than thatbit is immaculate

what generation 3S is it? 3S have a higher hp output than 1z but are older.

At that price you can get a better car needing less repairs.

I am not sure about the generation. But they were used in the rav 4 second gen. Would you prefer a 3s or a 1az? For reliability vs power and longevity…the alternative of the car ni a fielder KB…something. what would you advice? Take it or leave it and go for hizi mpya

Recommend a 2000cc station wagon that can go at that price. I only know caldina. Hapa ni toyota tu because much as i hate them being common sina pesa ya kujazs kupata atenza

1az is more modern, but at the end of the day, it will have to be what YOU are looking for not what I would prefer.
Good thing with toyo you can get your parts easily, and also they rarely break down so even that 3S engine will last you long time.
maybe try get him down to 450k if you have really liked the car. do a test drive, (high speed, acceleration and cruise) as this will allow you to test the car’s internals, and other hardware parts like shocks. if he tells you “usikimbie sana” tell him you’ll get to 120 and slow down.
do a diagnosis as well.

even 1azfe and 1zzfe outdoes most 3s-ge. but if it’s the one from early 2000s then its mo fire because its over 200hp and over 200nm.

hiyo gari nunua mia nne mwisho. inahitaji repairs na replacements mob.

KAY is a pretty old machine even with the engine replaced. Other moving parts, including suspension need to be considered.
I’d advise tiy to look at newer cars pricing before coming to a decision.
In my opinion 350k to 400k…
If you’re asking about what other station wagon, well there’s Nissan wingroad.
I know someone selling there’s for 500k, ex Japan, been used 3 years in Kenya.

gari kama hiyo nashuku ac haifanyi, suspension is worn out, needs headlights, door lining are worn, needs a bumper. hizo ndio vitu tarudi kuona kama pesa ilienda kitambo.

Noted. And would you say if i buy it i can get toyota vista spares. Kama naona dash iko na shida. Sijui kama i can get replacements. I will follow your advice and ask for 400 akikataa nitatembea i look for something else. Maybe a premio. But i really want a 2000cc station wagon

wingroad 3 years heri ata hiyo kay. alafu tena 500k? hii ni gari class ya probox

Thanks but sijawai penda nissans. I prefer fielder.

you are actually right on all those. Apart from suspension and bumper

gari haina AC itakaa aje sasa? that is usually a major issue with replaced engines. to make a summary of it, old cars espescially this kind that is tinkered with will need constant repairs. initial repairs could be costly. and some things like old headlights are just a pain in the ass. Tena KAY. hiyo number peke yake inafanya gari ikuwe 350. beware owners grossly overestimate the value of their car.

Thanks. Really insightful on the cost i should bargain for. 400k.
So for 550-650 yaani sina option ingine other than premio 2000cc?

i’m so averse to wingroads. @Bigfish1 has given valid points. which is what i was saying. your test drive should not be limited to cruise.
then again, why not do a quick check for spares before you buy? ask around for the dash lights, shocks…etc pre-purchase

legacy bh, legacy bp. my good good pal bought a black one non-turbo 2004 year for 500k flat. in the five or so months he has owned it, it has been a loyal friend in muddy situations.

You can buy a fielder like a KCA for 650 or premio-allion-240 pristine condition.
