800k capital business

A very close friend has some extra - 800k that he needs to put into some business,
he is thinking of putting some into drinking water refilling business,…
what do you think about this business?

And what alternatives can you give him?

Rule numero uno don’t use all of your capital in a start up

Hii mambo ya “asking for a friend” tulikataa.

you want me to ask for a Kunguru ?

just that the best thing he thought of was ‘drinking water refilling business’ i can specifically conclude that he is kyuk …and stupid… which is quite an awesome paring

800k ni kidogo saana in this harsh economic times.Sometimes back during Kibaki times, even 100k could bring at least 50% profit per month but siku hizi people dont pay immediately and you need to wait for your money a little longer.Kama hauna backup capital ole wako
My advise is water is too common and isnt a niche that can make you a unique brand.Mwmbie atafute something else.Maybe awe broker wa agricultural produce. Atafute fast moving produce with ready markets halafu aende mashambani kuleta. He can use half of that and the other half as backup

Thanks

Mi hushangaa vile mtu huangukia tu pesa bila idea ya vile ata-invest. At any given time mi huwa na at least two business ideas apart from my main hustle, nikiangukia some extra mula ni kuanza ku-implement. Maajabu.

he is an employed guy … hizi ni savings tu …not a deal

Then the first consideration, in that case, should be a business that’s somewhat associated with his job. Unless he hates his job.

Nipe loan ya 50k and a grace period of 4 months.

Let him look for affordable grain storage facilities.

Buy grains when there is glut and prices are down, store them and sell when supply diminishes and the price goes up.

Bonus tip: When Corona shutdown is over, look for supply contracts with Schools,
etc.

That bonus tip ni ujinga coz supplies to skuls take ages to be paid

Meffi

Umesema kweli…but matusi haisaidii

I would have suggested that he import Nissan March mbili for Uber business…
Lakini nasikia Uber siku hizi imekuwa meffi

You cannot ask about a business, maybe investment options like funds, shares, bonds etc. Starting a business has a whole lot of variables starting with owner interests, location that determines the product/service (e.g. you cannot sell ice cream in iceland or buy a tractor to farm in the deserts of marsabit), regulations affecting your area of interest eg alcohol ban, culture and religion of community where business is based e.g selling pork to muslims etc etc
In short yote utaskia hapa ni hewa. Business is very personalized

Actually there is icecream in Iceland …as much as there is in Nairobi …and lesser of it in Gariss

You must be so mshamba to believe that people eat icecream to cool down from the heat

The best investment is good health. But seriously, my cousin is setting up a gas refilling /delivery business hizi za mtaani umezoea. The returns look decent. Consider t that

Learn to read things in context not just literary. Of course there is ice cream in iceland, but given the temperature what do you think is the average consumption per person, do you expect an ice cream palor at every corner compared say to carlifonia?

Acha tu nikiuambie ukweli…

Ukitaka kuanzia biz, usiwahi uliza opinion ya watu wengi.
Why? You will get confused by all sorts of dissent opinions.
Watu wengi hawajawahi fanya biz ata moja watakupatia “expert” opinions zao.

Kama hapa already naona @Thiem amesema water is too is common. Yaani haiwezi.
@Inthanite naye akasema tafuta grain storage facility.
@Tonito naye akakuambia fanya biashara ya Uber.
@ninja417 anasema fungua biz ya kuuza gas.
Blah blah.

Wewe cheza kama wewe!!! Invest in whatever you think can work. Ng’ombe hazimaliani nyasi.

Just remember: Do a thorough business analysis of the niche you want to invest in.

It usually involves the following:

  1. Identify your target market
  2. Calculate how many customers you need to make a good profit and choose a convenient location.
  3. Fanya competitor analysis.
  4. Customer feedback. Watu kwa ground wanasema aje? Labda wanataka weekly water delivery mpaka kwa mlango.

Start small, later you can work on an expansion plan.
