Abortions: P2, curved knives and Your Stand

Whether we like it or not, we are going to have abortions in Kenya, legal or illegal. Our law is quite prescriptive on what it allows - abortions when mother’s life is at risk. Nothing is said about issues of rape especially when such a mother would be incapable of mothering the child.

I’m not an ethicist but I would like us to start changing our way of evaluating issues. Our society has accepted using P2 drugs(sales figures)… is it abortion? How is it that taking P2 a day after conception is acceptable and not using a curved knife to get rid of a foetus months after conception?

World tubal ligation day ni lini?

When you are developing you start as a single cell, a living cell. Every cell in your body can be used to create your clone. You kill millions of cells on your skin every time you take a bath and in your feet when you walk. Is that abortion?

From a single cell you develop into something that looks like a clump bacterial cells much like a colony of staph aureas. Your essense is like that of a colony af bacteria.

Then you undergo diffrentiation and form some appendages and a long axis. Now you look like a fish. You have gills that you dont use. You are in water. Like a fish, your limbs look like paddles.

Then you evolve into something that looks reptillian then lastly, mammalian. But you dont breathe air like any mammalian you know of.

Then you get expelled from your watery hideout. Now you breathe, MATHAFAKA! That is a newborn! Not a fetus any more.

Aborting a fully developed fetus is creepy. Is murder, I would dare say. According to me.

But calling postinor abortion? Huh? That is just sick.

Now between conception and birth, can you assign the precise time that those cells become human?

Just give me your opinion.

In my unqualified opinion, there is no good time to get an abortion. But if a woman misses a period and does the pdt and finds out she is pregnant, she should not wait to get to a second or 3rd missed period.

Supposing we stop kizungu mingi. When does life begin? Does it start when your almighty seed meet her egg or before birth?

This question is not targeted at you. Its open for discussion.

We need more abortion not less. cc @patco @TrumanCapote

Why do you think so? Supposing you had a sister, would you say the same? What if it were your daughter? Just tell us what you would tell them about abortion.

Actually I am pro choice and once lost a friend on this abortion business (I got depressed for months was not my Prego though). In my view if abortion is illigle where you are geographically, travel to a place it is legal and have your way, the right way.

Could your friend have afforded to fly to the USA? Why did she take such a risky route?

In other words, those women procuring abortions are our daughters and sisters. I want you to imagine if it’s your sister or daughter.

Leta maneno tuzungumze

She used to fly quite frequently to China and Asia went to NYC twice… She had means . About my own child, or mother or daughter. Nitalipa whatever necessary because a foetus will not threaten my investment in them. I thought ungepata nmesema hapo juu I’m pro choise, ie I don’t value unwanted foetuses. In the states when abotion was legalized in some states there was allot of crime however 20yrs later it was safe. This is because those unwanted oborted foetuses who would be angry ranging teanagers causing insecurity were already done with . Wewe ni pro life and you views are valid too, Kama una hekaya ya your loved one(s) kuaboat your kid or a kid you wanted letA hekaya

Abortion is legal in South Africa

Unfortunately, even if we were both aborted you would still have remained an idiot for life. As showcased by your reckless comment here.

Anyone who posts a thread about fences and the need for fences and borders and is surprised and then becomes very emotional when Trump is mentioned in the thread, then you must be a truly special kind of stupid and ignorant. That as the owner of the thread you couldn’t read in between the lines.

Then there must surely be a creator. And may His name be praised. 9 months evolution. Na Darwin anatuambia evolution lazima ichukue millions of years.

Na hio evolution yote inatokea kwa tumbo tu, that small space. Including the spark of life. That a clump of meat begins to live. Halafu uuwe.

In the U.S. the iften track down women who aborted as teens or in their 20s in the 1970s and 80s for research purposes to see how they are fairing including mentally. Then they make documentaries about them. I’ve bever heard a songle eoman say, “Wow thanks to the abortion I achieved so much in life!”

They all ask ‘What if?’ Ni chakula tu nilikosa singeweza kumpatia? Now he would be 43 years old and on his own. Angekusumbua tu for a few years kisha aende zake. And you’ll never know his story. What he or she could’ve become. Over 50 million aborted presidents, billionaires, researchers etc in the U.S. due to Roe Wade.

This is one touchy subject … tread lightly.

The above is wrong. Crime did not go down because people aborted 20 years earlier. Those are the kinds of stats you get in moonshine dens. Dangerous thinking.

On the question of when to abort, I have heard it articulated in debates that abortion should not be done after the foetus has reached a point where it can survive without the mother. 24 weeks? This is hearsay.

In the Traditional African society we didn’t have things like rape and unwanted pregnancies so nobody talked about abortion. I have to admit that there were cases where the pregnancy of a woman was life threatening to both the mother and child but there was a way to sort out that issue and it was through Abortion that was carefully done by the village doctor and that matter was never to be discussed by anyone considering it was a taboo.

Having twins was also considered as bad luck and no parent wanted to get twins. During pregnancy if a couple thought or learned that they would have twins cleansing rituals were to be carried out. This did not warrant for an Abortion even though it was a pregnancy of unwanted babies.

In Today’s society girls aimlessly get pregnant and later procure for abortions haphazardly in unregistered clinics without thinking how they’re endangering their lives.

Women of mature age get into marriage but nevertheless they are never ready to be parents and after getting pregnant they run to money hungry doctors to terminate their pregnancies.

My opinion on this matter is that unwarranted abortion should be punishable by law. You see if you engage in unprotected sex with a partner that you are not sure of their status you just can’t run to a health facility and demand to be given emergency pills, The pills are a preserve of special cases. If you sleep with someone and get pregnant you face the consequences and responsibilities.

They should abort if they don’t feel like having a baby at that moment. I don’t see why this is a big deal.

A woman should birth a baby when she is willing to. Sio kuzaa kitoto reject.

A am pro choice. Women who do not wish to go on with a pregnancy or who feel they will not be able to take care of the baby, may choose to terminate the pregnancy whenever they want, safely, in a safe and approved establishment.
And fyi, curved knives are not used to abort, there are other specialized instruments that are used. At time drugs may be used depending on gestational age. The above mentioned procedures are relatively safe when done by a trained medic.
