Mtito Andei sub base is reporting a fatal injury road traffic accident which occurred today the 25/04/2017 at about 0040hrs along Mombasa-Nairobi road near kambu shopping centre 25kms north of the station. It was Involving a P.S.V bus reg.no KCF555Z make Scania bus carrying unknown number of passengers which was heading towards Mombasa general direction and a tanker trailer reg.no KBR 730S/ZD8658 Make scania heading towards Nairobi general direction. It happened that the driver of the bus was overtaking at kalulu bridge when he saw the oncoming trailer . He tried to drive back to his lane but he collided head on with the trailer. As a result of the accident the bus landed on the right side of the bridge while the trailer was left at it’s rightful lane. Unknown number of passengers who were in the bus have died on the spot while others were seriously injured. The trailer driver and the turn boy were seriously injured. The rescue mission is under way. The injured people are being rushed to Makindu subcounty hospital and Kibwezi amref hospital. The dead bodies are yet to be ascertained.Progress report to follow.
