Due to heavy downpour experienced in Mombasa/Kilifi since yesterday midnight to today at around 10am had paralyzed movement along Kilifi -Mombasa road .This had resulted to the lorry below plunging into a swollen river at mbongolo bridge in Kilifi after driver losing proper control of the lorry.Two on board were rescued by divers as one drowned and the search is on.

I passed there twice last week and the contractor repairing the bridge had put rock Boulder right on the bridge making it a one way. Large vehicles…Canter’s, buses, vans…had to wait for long hours before closing over. The repair work was shoddy for such an important installation. Without that bridge, one would have to go around Giriama to connect
