Acts Of Heroism

Coordination between the forces made a difference.

The media not only covered this event with great restraint, they actively sprung in and evacuated victims.

Githeri media tried their usual games but the citizens shout them down. From trying to push survivors to narrate the present position only to be put back into their place. CaK reminded them of the laws in covering an active ongoing security operation. Media council send them their own journalism code of conduct which still remains a strange document for comedians turned presenters. They still invited self declared security experts to tell viewers of the terrorists demands and concerns forgetting our own citizens are still undergoing rescue in real time. So no, they didn’t restrain, they were restrained by others.

Look at the headlines. Editors still think sales is better even if its about milking a terrorist attack.

Blame it on capitalism.

There was a media council meeting with all media editors, journalists, media owners and government institutions in multimedia university in 2017. It covered all aspects of live coverage of ongoing security operations. They know and they agreed. However githeri media are just being themselves. Next time let them send their presenters/comedians to the same because journalists in are not in control of the stations, its the comedians.
However Mediamax did very well, I remember they were very active in the discussion then and I’m glad they followed up the laws and advice of security teams.
Their headline is patriotic and respectful to the victims.

hawa wasee ni wakali.must be commended…but as usual headlines wanaeka zile negative tu…na pia juu ya inferiority wanaeka sanasana mahali foreign forces/persons appear heroic

I like this picture. This is what the duty of our troops is: To serve and protect.

Githeri media led by akina franscis gachuri were asking questions that could jeopardize the operation… A former colleague of his who works in that place shut him down when he tried to ask about the rescue mission i have never bn so happy.
The news headlines on today’s newspaper’s are unfortunate they had the chance to celebrate our security forces for a job well done but fuckers decided otherwise! Bure kabisa.

I don’t watch citizen, did they bring Manyora again as a security expert

VE, I think that you’re focusing on the exceptions instead of appreciating that the majority avoided gory images and details that could aid the thugs by divulging information about the counter-terror tactics.

Yaahhh atleast no gory image have been plastered on our medias so far

Slay queen mbogo recorded a gory video in an active crime scene io nugu inafaa kua ndani.

Our guys are ontop this time, atleast ata hiyo haija toka nje, furthermore they know who recorded it,so the guy will definitely refrain from sharing it.

Yes, I’m focusing on the exception. Githeri media have always been the exception, they are nation media, standard group, royal media and radio Africa group. The other 80 licences media operating in Kenya followed the protocol. Its very simple. Don’t say where the victims are, where the security officers are or doing, where the attackers are so that they don’t move/hide from there and lastly don’t show any of the pictures. Terrorists look for those pics as recruitment posters and propaganda. If they get none its was a total failure and the popularity they hoped for fails. Show the banners we are one or the pics of the brave officers. I will also mention the mistakes we made but let’s await the confirmation that the entire sweep and roundup is complete in the area or staging areas.

Amejianika mwenyewe, civilians aren’t supposed to own assault weapons. He is also a thug out on bail after he was arrested trying to defraud someone $millions using fake gold. I’ll be focusing on his bail terms about now. Naona akilala ndani this kamata Friday.

Napenda sana …

power bank kwa mfuko… how does he have an automatic firearm

Manyora =talker= …?

New York Times posted an image of dead bodies in their headline. When queried on Twitter, their incoming E.A. bureau chief (who had taken the photos), arrogantly dismissed the objections. Note that NYT never post any gory images from shootings/bombings in US and Europe.

This invited the wrath of Kenyans on Twitter, and NYT had to kunja mkia and hastily draft an apology.

A shot gun is permitted by law only that it is far from the ideal weapon in a crowded place as it fires pellets. Hiyo ni showbiz tupu.

This was the best interview of the event, a survivor putting githeri media in its place. Don’t feed the troll. Disclosing information that puts others at risk and helps attackers is very irresponsible. NPS gave out official numbers to call and additional numbers of Senior officers conducting the rescue at site. The bandwidth of all those lines had been increased by service providers so that it can accommodate all information sent to them.
