Advert: Discrimination

What do you call discrimination based on looks? This is the first advert I have seen where applicants are asked to send their photos. :D:D:D

Not necessarily. It could be for job ID or just in case they might one day need to put a notice in the papers that begins with “The person whose photograph appears and who goes by the names…”

Not really. Job ID photos are requested after the person has passed the interview

I once applied for a job with KĂgui sounding name. I also passed on the opportunity to a junior colleague who had a Morata sounding name. You can bet who got the job.

Understandable for a business like a club. Nobody likes a waitress that looks like Whoopi Goldberg.

Nobody wants a waitress that looks like @Kihii Kiaganu to serve them…So yes, necessarily, those pics are for “profiling”.

Not with airlines, for cabin crew/air hostess/flight attendant jobs.

Especially those of the middle east. Here if you arent good looking, you have a scar or happen to be a midget, dont bother applying

I work in the hotel industry, for those staff working in front of the office, outlets and house keeping, before they look at your papers, first they look at the photo. At my former employer, some Rwandeese lady was poached from some property purely on her looks.

in some jobs, it’s the looks that matter. CV ni ya kuweka tu kwa file.
