ADVICE

Morning people, I need your advice. My engine is now sounding like a Diesel engine and doesn’t produce as much power as it used to. The engine light and oil pressure pump light and traction control are all on and nilikuwa service two weeks ago. The car is a 2.4cc Toyota blade. The engine is a 2az-fe.

Has any one had such issues on their car and what did they do? Do I need to buy another engine or it can be repaired? Advice urgently needed. Thank you.

Keenly following this.

Morning…who have you confused in church today?

This is an indication of a major problem with your engine.
Park the vehicle and call your mechanic ASAP.

On leave this week.

Have you ever encountered the same?

2AZ FE is a meffi engine that has seen Toyota face a class action lawsuit if I am not wrong.
One birrionea here had a request for a similar engine replacement for his Harrier and another Harrier two months earlier.
What does your mech tell you?

Took it to toyotsu, the guys were like you have two options: option A is to open it up and option B is to avoid that hustle and just get an ex Japan engine

Option 1 is a bottomless pit.
That engine is gone.
Replace.
Leta kazi.

Just get another engine.
Opening it up will cost you almost the same and the problem might recur

if the exjapan engines have some form of warranty then they are a better bet. If none you better open your own have the mech check it out. Otherwise you may put in another engine then it suffers the same fate soon after. My experience was on a gearbox for a BH5, It was jerky and I was told just get another GB, fix and forget. Less than six months down the line the problem occurred again. I opted to sell the vehicle as is.

High tea?

Does this mean Harriers have a problem with engines? Which one would u recommend - Harrier, New RAV4 and CRV?

You have the engine? What’s your price?

But didn’t selling it ‘as is’ affect the cost too much?

That engine is in both the Harrier 2.4 and the Rav4.
If you want to buy, go for a CRV.

Yes but it helped me get a brand new second hand. For me it was a “surer” way of getting a vehicle I would have more confidence in. Therefore I did not mind the loss.

oxymoron much? o_Oo_O

We don’t stock parts.
We’ll have to source.
