fake news

You won’t be told that cases za Mauritius na Eritrea zimeisha.
Those two countries are now covid19 free

Imagine those are official figures

Population:
Eritrea -3.2 million
Mauritius- 1.2 million

Kenya is closer to Nigeria and SA in terms of socio-economic structure. That’s what we use them as reference points.

IMO the reason African numbers are low is because of:

  • slow, insufficient or total lack of testing
  • under-reporting. Some of it could be intentional i.e. the medical staff don’t want to be forcefully quarantined, so they opt to keep quiet after treating patients exhibiting coronavirus symptoms.
  • denial, denial, denial, denial…
As Uhuru said in his Saturday’s statement, 30% of the reported deaths happened at home. There could be many more unreported deaths, keeping in mind that many victims are not succumbing to covid19 per se, they die from other pre–existing conditions.

Makes sense.

African numbers are low, some can be understood from the points stated above, but they are still very low.

Without millions of tests, the figures being given don’t seem to be plausible.

Some of us probably got it and healed without knowing, just stay safe and protect others.
