African Games

As a gamer I feel bad when we have games that depict various histories of white races, while repeating them to a lethargic point eg assassin’s Creed.
There is so much creative fodder for fully African games.
I plan to open a game studio that will make world war games, but from the perspective of kings African rifles soldiers.
I also plan a Mau mau and Lwanda Magere game.
All games will be done in local languages.

All the best, but let me blow your bubble, nairobix and bungoma hangman didn’t get far, they got good reviews mpaka the ended up in the trend, gamers section on sato nation and ihub, but that was it.

Shida ni market. Kenyans don’t buy genuine games or apps. They also have ad blockers so you can’t monetize in that way. Target an international audience.

Ask yourself these simple questions:
How many Kenyans support developers on Google play store?
How many kenyans have legit copies of games such as FIFA, NBA, NFS e.t.c

Its not good for business to put your resources where the returns are less

Market ya games is not well established in Kenya keeping in mind Watu wako na simu za maana za kucheza games hawananga time ya games.they buy their kids some shitty Android things that are incapable of installing more than 5apps,
Mostly those who do genuine apps esp games in Kenya utapata ni wale wanatumia ipads na ni vile wamekosa vile watasambaza

GUYS! I am talking about making CONSOLE GAMES. your mediocrity is astounding

make sure to post a link to demo when done…

Local languages?
You won’t sell because:

  1. We have a gazillion languages in Kenya.

thinking local is the problem …I bet someone out there heck even Marvel Studios or DC comics would be interested in furthering a “Lwanda Magere” franchise or even Makmende …our biggest issue is we have lost so much of our heritage thus even a game idea would be very western influenced …Imagine tu a Makmende movie, game, merchandise, and stand at Naiccon… It is even sad that the moneyed 1% in Kenya don’t want to invest in this virtual market

Follow your dreams but don’t only focus on Kenya. Having a game that covers different historical battles and events in Africa sounds cool. I can imagine the expansion of the Zulu or Benin kingdoms open world games ect.
