Alcoholics and other stories

Today i lost one of my drinking buddies n colleague, he woke up, dressed up, ate no breakfast as usual, pitiad kalocal kutoa lock, akachapa a few shots of these second generation stuff(poison),n then came to work…at lunch time he slumped on his desk as usual to take a nap only that this time he never woke up, he never will…leaving behind a young family without a father n a breadwinner…the sad part is we all knew it was gonna happen, it was only a matter of time…the guy spent all his time out of work drinking…ate very little, lost a lot of weight, bones where pocking out his skin, he was basically a walking skeleton…the big question is how did a brilliant guy, top student in kcse in the country, masters degree(honors)…end up here…

Hebu tueleze as his friend/workmate. RIP

Does this also mean you also take the poison together. Chunga.
Halafu weka mbicha hata kaa ni ya hiyo lock ikitoka.
Rip

Obviously something drove him to alcoholism and his friends you being one of them just stood aloof and watched as he walked to his grave, I am sorry to say this but it seems like this is the only action you took concerning his state. Ni hayo tu kwa sasa.

same story gets replicated countrywide; I read somewhere that when alcohol poisoning starts manifesting itself one loses appetite and he will not be taking any meals unless forced @Luther12 confirm whether this is true. I stumbled upon the information after fidel’s death, his postmortem showed an empty stomach and on his last day he even refused taking lunch with his family members.

What did you do as his friend? What positive contribution can be associated with you in his life?

I used to partake, but after some introspection…which came after a few accidents, a lot of money down the drain,(Kenya Breweries a/c and hospital bills) i quit. But i do fall back a few times.

Hata pia mimi niko na colleague niko sure Dec haitafika ,nimejaribu kila niwezavio nimeshindwa, watu wengine hawasaidiki hata yesu mwenyewe akiwaombea.

You can do very little when it comes to kind of decisions a grown man makes, the institution offered to take him to rehab several times, but he bluntly refused…kuongezea some of his drinking buddies wangemchocha rehab is for sissies…

At one point every soul shall die and be buried underneath…but it so sad to speed up your death by taking foreign/poison stuff to your body…RIP…smart brains gone hollow skull left disturbing people…

And herein lies the problem. The biggest problem. His friends, who should ideally form the support system, are at most times who block efforts at rehabilitation. Very sad.

Guys, call me crazy but in my own observation, this is a bigger problem with above average people and especially the sons of highly successful men.
I lost about 4 close friends to heroine na wote walikuwa wametoka ubabini and then a West African friend of mine juzi we were talking about the same kinda shytealafu he mentioned ati Generational Curses in families that affect us bila kujua.
Does anyone believe in that kind of thing. I think its alot of crap especially kama you are a firm Christian but it sounds like a plausible explanation…

I know a fool, for lack of a better word, who drank till both his kidneys collapsed. They took him to India where one brother donated a kidney. First night on arriving from India the guy was more drunk than ever. The family has given up and accepted that a funeral is imminent. Very sad

I dont think its generational curses; children of successful families are often given a good allowance regularly making them able to buy alcohol when and wherever they want, some of us growing up we were very curious and also wanted to be going to all the best spots and drink alcohol but what saved us ni mullah haikua and by the time we got some little cash later on in life we had matured and knew how to handle the stuff responsibly

somebody today asked me fangi ilinifanyia nini ndiyo nikawa na msimamo mkali dhidi yake. it is cases like this that drive me to campaign against substances*. Believe me at my age i have seen enough brilliant brains stewed by drugs and I care about your wellbeing…

*refers to anything taken for the euphoria we call a “high” capable of causing an addiction…
