Yesterday I took a very small repair job to a technician. I had diagnosed the problem and only what he needed to do was repair the ac/dc rectifier circuit and had explained as much. Dude assured me that he could handle it I leave the machine with him and come back after an hour. Coming back, dude has removed more than 10 components that were totally unrelated to the repairs I wanted and he started convincing me how he had identified all to be faulty. He wanted 2k to get new components and I return after another hour. I was skeptical but gave him the money and left. Came back and the guy was still making excuses about this and that. I ended up wasting a whole day and left with a machine that was more dead than it was when I took it for repair.
Am still seething at this hour.

If you had diagnosed, why didn't you just do the repairs yourself? You set yourself for being frustrated.
