JB Masanduku and Tina Kaggia were the showbiz IT couple for some time. They made us hope and believe that our own love lives could become like theirs. The couple had a whirlwind romance and ended up getting married.

The discreet ceremony was held at the Attorney General’s Chambers on October 1, 2013 and attended by close family and friends. It should be noted that none of JB’s family showed up for the ceremony. That right there should have been a big red flag. Eight months later, the couple welcomed their son into the world. Yet by then, unknown to many, the clouds had already started gathering.

So begun the JB and Tina marriage, with little fanfare but with big Kenyan stars at the helm. The marriage had many highs, but the lows were numerous and embarrassing for those involved. One minute we would be inundated with info that they were on a glorious vacation and all-smiles, then another they would be fighting.

Uncle Chim Tuna wrote a story a couple of years back about Tina allegedly physically abusing JB at a popular Westlands club. They both denied that this had happened.
Things got so bad that in March 2014, Tina moved out. It was the first time she’d had to make this difficult decision, mostly for the interests of the children. But JB has now come out to set the record straight, speaking to Mpasho exclusively, he narrated how he had been physically abused by Tina while they were together. Yaani, alikuwa anatandikwa kama burukenge!

This was contrary to what Tina alluded to in an interview to the Pulse. She said:
“I was not going to have them put in this kind of instability. I am neither going to raise my girls thinking it is OK to be treated that way nor let my son think women ought to be treated that way. “They are I their formative years and you know, damaged people damage other people.”
But JB in the exclusive interview with Mpasho that he had never treated Tina in a way that would put her in danger:
She used to be abusive to me, even previously.
When asked about a recent Instagram post that seemed to be an apology of sorts, JB Masanduku said:
I didn’t apologize, I just said I don’t know what the f@#$ is going on. I would not do this to Tina. Then I posted a photo of us guys on vacation. I didn’t apologize! why would I apologize for something I have not done? I was just trying to calm the waters because she wouldn’t communicate with me.

There you have it, people. Who is lying and who is telling the truth? The phrase, that a coin has two sides is very relevant to this story.
