How do you follow the story structure in combat games? i could care less. I just want to fight. I cannot tell you the reason for the fights in Tekken or street fighter, the back story is irrelevant. The only reason im sort of aware of the story behind Mortal Kombat is because of the movies.
So while that trailer for injustice 2 looks intense, 80% of it is meaningless to people like me. They are better off just taking all the cutscenes and making a movie.
I still have injustice for ps3 at home and i got bored like 20% through it because it became very repetitive. In all likelihood i will give this one a pass even when i decide to buy the ps4…or ps7o_O
You are ranting bruh.Injustice when it came out was the shit worth gracing the fighting gaming ownage bragging rights after the overplay of mk9 and sf4.The newest fighting game at that time was kina killer instinct/dead or alive/Naruto and si kwa ubaya this was the best all round.We all know that but the effort since MkX has made people take seriously the stories that this franchise carry…
And finally the comic is epic.I have read it till now and everyone is waiting for year 6.The game has a serious fan base who follow the story (like me).Seriously kuongea shit juu ya story ya injustice is absurd it has one if the best comic books right now so yeah the fuckong story matters…people right are debating about characters in the phantom zone to those straight missing from the books plus where is the book bridge the story of the game with its own.Finally I think i said it before injustice was the first game niliona madem wana weza play.Gotta give it to the female cast…like for real play this game with a bitch chances are she will be harley quin button masher…

I dont think fighting games like these need a story arc…especially if your actions do nothing to continue the story. I would appreciate if at the end of each battle you had the choice to kill an opponent or not and dependent on your decision and who you are playing as, then there would be ramifications in the story line. As it is, you are Harley and you fight this guy, then this other guy, then another guy…switch character, fight this guy then that guy then this guy…rinse and repeat.
The Injustice comics are fine, I dont disagree its a good story line but that is besides the point. Someone can thoroughly enjoy the comics and be blissfully unaware of the game. But can you tell me the game would be any different if you removed all those cut-scenes?
The story isnt integral to the game like it is in a different genre like an adventure game or FPS e.g Uncharted, COD etc.
But the comics and the game go hand in hand story wise…the comics take the story to where that game starts then the game finishes the story? Like year 5 happens just before injustice 1 and thus year six will start the arc hadi 10 where the game will finish that arc.

I read from year 1 to around year 3/4 i think? (when Constantine was the main protagonist, and i didnt like that one)…all without finishing the game.

Well that arc was dope…actually one of the best constantine screws everybody over brings mxyzpletdsd and trigon to duke it out cuasing reality to collapse…just so he can get of a deal and save his daughter.But kina superman na batman waliwachwa wakikaukanga…its nice cause it explains why certain characters aren’t involved in the events that unfold in the game e.g braniac,supergirl arent in injustice 1 the game trailer shows she comes in between the event of 1 and 2 so a lot must have gone down.
