Hii usuguliwa na wazee wa heshima kwa boma.

Long story. But mkikula mbuzi ukose kutoboa shimo kwa hio bone una pigwa fine ya mbuzi ingine papo hapo bila bargain

Not applicable to shiny eyes only. Grass will grow through the hole therefore it wont block pastures entirely when disposed

Hehehe…lakini cultural norms zingine ni wierd tu. Venye tu ango budspencer amesema hapo juu… Hakuna haja ya kucopy paste.

I learn something new all the time in this village.
@Ka-Buda ,what does it signify in our culture?

kurudisha mkono. The man who gave out the mbuzi is given one leg to take to wife and wife only.

Giciri…

What does it mean guka?

All of the above answers are true.
My understanding is that it brings good luck to toboa that hole using your thumb.

Didn’t know that. I thought it was a Kikuyu and Maasai thing only.

I am the only pure blood in this village after waka was assassinated by admin

This bone is from the upper end of the goat’s or sheep’s front arm (guoko).
Toboaring the hole signifies gratitude and in cultural superstitious belief it is suppossed to bring good luck to the giver and recipient of the guoko.
You’ve heard of terms like “gucokia guoko” etc…
The guoko is a very culturally important part of the goat in Kikuyu culture.

Tuiria umenye.

Hehehehe never knew the significance of this. Sande Sana mzito.

So what does that make me and @Meria Mata then?.. Nduriri?..nkt!..

kuna time nilikula paka nikatoboa Femur yake later

hehe shoulder blade.

Sawa, so that’s where “returning the hand” comes from.

Ahsante…It is good to know .
I think I will renew my library subscription and read about our cultures at length and pass down what I can to my kids.
