Germans don’t make cars…they engineer epic machines. Most of these don’t come cheap. For obvious reasons.(depends on how deep your pockets go). And this is on both purchase and Maintenance.(allegedly). However, one owner of a 2.0 ltr 2006 Audi A3 Hatchback viciously disputes the later. She claims- (Yes it’s a woman)- that for the 3 years that she’s had this compact little beast, she’s spent far less than she had spent on her previous ride for a single year -a Toyota Allex-(Yes it had to be a Toyota). She says that the only time she’s been to the mechanic are the ‘normal’ service visits i.e; oil change bluh bluh bluh…The most expensive overhaul she’s done to date is a recent change of all the shocks. AT 12K apiece. This came after she hit the occassional and very random pothole due to a heavy right foot- (Again, Yes it’s a woman)-. Her Mechanic has ‘promised’ that the next time she’l need to change them is after 5 years!
So is it true that despite the high spare parts costs for German Machines, their longevity and reliability might actually be easier on the pocket than a Toyota??[ATTACH=full]89633[/ATTACH]

depends on specs and trim level… it will out run the normal impreza for sure but wont much the STI versions. the main purpose for the A3 is luxury for the laidback customer. but for more perfomance the sline quattro will be your best bet.
