Currently, Bamba TV has rolled out a registration campaign for their decoders to enable users access their free to view and Free to air channels. Question is what are they up to coz I understand that after the deadline those who remain unregistered will have blank screens on their TVs? Again, it only applies to those having the set top boxes. So if I have a digital TV set box I am required to go buy the decoder to continue watching channels falling under their Service provision. Any Villager with an idea whats happening?

they want your data to build their customer profiling for their marketing and program structuring most probably....
But they do take a customer's details at the point of purchase, hii nyingine sounds fishy. What about blocking other providers like ADN, PANG and Signet?

They are planning how to best screw those who were naive enough to buy their decoders. Have you ever wondered why they insist on selling their decoders while they could access the largest market using the existing free-to-air decoders?

They are saying that they are encripting their services, mara for ease of follow up incase of theft, mara to know if the decoder is genuine,.... these guys are hiding something.

Bamba channels disappeared from my FTA decoder several months ago. I have a feeling that it's just a matter of time before they start charging a 'small fee' to 'improve' their programming.

Rest assured you are about to be screwed if you were gullible enough to buy a Bamba decoder - ati 'free for life'!

Its funny... waende wakikaukanga.

I feel you for the inevitable disappointment that the customers are going to face. Currently Bamba has only KTN alongside some crap stations {God knows where they sourced them} in its stable. Compared to ADN and Akina PANG, its channels clarity can be termed as wanting..

My FTA decoder receives some Bamba channels. Does it mean after 31st,I will not watch those Bamba channels? If yes the people who are screwed will be us not the bamba decoder owners

@bjurmann, it will require you to buy a Bamba decoder for you to continue enjoying their services. Imagine if the other providers decided to go with this crap? It means I will have to have a Bamba, Signet, PANG and ADN for me to have all the channels I currently have on FTA.

Put in a different way, why should they want you to purchase their decoder while they can reach you using your current decoder? That is because they have something unpleasant coming. If all they wanted was an audience, they can get the largest audience using the FTA decoders. It means they want to lock people in before they unleash the surprise. In this case, the surprise may be either some form of charges or some unbearable advertising, most likely the latter.
