Why is it that kenyan banks are always so quick to lay staff off when their profitability is threatened?Aren't there any other cost cutting measures that they can pursue instead of taking job seekers on this cycle every now and then.
This time around the adoption of the new IFRS 9 is the trigger.
Wale wenye huwa wanawak bank pole sana moreso mid level and low tier staff.

Hawa mid level management are always the 1st to go after kuhama eastlands na kuchukuwa car loan
pale kenyalaw.org nimeona cases mob za branch managers after kufutwa job na na loan inaregeshwa Ile interest ya kawaida na nyumba zinakua auctioned. bank upea manager loan ya gari na nyumba but not to do business

First of all, IFRS 9 affects provisioning and not the ability of the bank to make money so decision to lay off is just justification for laying off mid level managers..
