It would be advisable to use a carbon rod in the cell instead of of the copper wire, since copper react with acid. You can get one from an old dry cell, that black hard thing. Within two days that wire will completely be gone. I used to have a radio that required 9v and I was using a car battery of 12v, I would use cell not to overload.
Hii ni ujinga. just replace that cell and terminal for 1000 bob. A failing battery sometimes strongly indicates a failing alternator bush, brush or rectifier.
I am using something called free batt now 2yrs. cheap. when it comes to car batteries use sealed battery only. not a battery to corrode the engine bay. especially if the car is for keeps.
