There is a time I was hustling in Nairobi masquerading as a plumber and installing associated equipment i.e pumps, solar heaters et al.
I was new in the business, so I had to learn the ropes from guys who had been in business for quite a while.
So there is this kao guy who had a contract for electrical installation kule Kitengela.
So the guy invites me this Saturday morning to go with him to the site, do some work for him and maybe he could hook me up with the house owner and others around there and perhaps they would give me some contracts.
So come Saturday and we head to one of those upcoming estates in
Kitengela.
The guy gave me a hammer and concrete chisel to make the grooves for laying the conduits for electrical cables.
Let me just tell you penetrating a lintel is not an easy job, but I had to do it.
At the end of the day I got paid my 500 bob, and it was the sweetest ever.
