Beginners guide to FTA tv

Someone inboxed me on how to go with watching fta… so i thought it will be good kuelezea villagers vile kunaenda

So how do i start?
Search for kisii electronics in your google maps…iko side ya river road. .

-enda hapo useme umetumwa decoder ya freesat combo v7 it goes for 5500 -6000

-Ask in the same shop for a 6 feet dish ya eurostar 6-7k (am not sure)

-Ask for a cable depending on the distance between your house and the dish outside… insist on a good quality cable i think it goes for 20-25bob per foot or meter (am not sure coz nilibuy yangu kitambo)

-ask for a C-band LNB, preferably Eurostar! (I think ina go for 2k)

-weka 1k-2k kando ya fundi…

Hizo ndio basic tu.

Things to keep in mind.

-A 6 feet dish ni kubwa, so unaitaji ukue na space yakutosha ya kuimount, ama kama waeza una faa kuiweka kwa ukuta ama kwa ceiling (for maximum reception). Na pia yafaa kukua pahali hakuna interference from children or tree canopy.

What do you enjoy watching on FTA tv?

  • Obviously no monthly charges

  • a wide range of channels for free,

  • ability to connect several decoders to one dish…what do I mean?, You see in DSTV kama wataka kuwatch kbc kwa tv ya siting room na ntv kwa tv ya bedroom you have to have two decoders which you will have to pay an extra cost in order to view multiple channels but in an fta decoder you can have several decoders with no extra cost!

  • rain or storms do not interfere with the signal

  • terrestrial channels are also free to air

  • good clarity on the tv channels…am talking about some contents being aired on HD unlike your usual go tv or startimes!

  • a decoder can easily record TV programmes

  • on a side note my freesat decoder ina waka waaaaaaaay faster than the dstv one

How much will it cost to get a FTA set up?

15-17k

Finally someone has put this FTA thing in a simple and palatable way!
So what kind of channels does someone get specifically sports, news and kids channels? @coldpilsner

Don’t want to sound rude but please refer to the threads in this category, everything has been explained in HD clarity

There is so much in fta, this 6ft dish is receiving signal from 4 satellites, about 500 with 40 being premium channels and 10 in glorious HD, fundi wa kufunga hii halipwi 2k.

The village tangu enzi za wanderi ime kua iki hamasisha wadau kuhusu fta

In the sky kuna 10s of satellites, moja ina beem dstv, ingine ina beem zuku, ingine nilesat, etc etc etc. So out of these many satellites kuna zingine zenye ziko ment for other countries and their content is free…for example india wako na intelsat yenye waeza ona bbc na channels zingine in fta… different sats offer different stuff in fta…sasa ni wewe useme kenye unataka kuona…

this is whats happening here
