There were two main chocolate families : Mars and Hershey. Thay are both a case study of America and wealth distribution.

Franklin Clarence Mars refused to share his wealth with the workers. As you can see his descendants are still billionaires to this very day. The greedy capitalist.
Milton Hershey on the other hand represents the welfare king. The social democrat. The reformer. The American dream that everyone can partake of the cake. He never had kids. He set up his company such that the workers benefitted directly. He was the first to build a city for workers which included a park. To this day the Hershey worker is a co owner of the company. Believe it or not most Hershey workers never left. Some are fifth generation workers. The company is like their family.
Mars incorporated is today way bigger than Hershey but Hershey’s ideals are more admirable.

Good info

Because Hershey never had kids, him and his wife adopted thousands of orphan boys and set up a large boarding school that still operates to this day.
Question is would you do that if you were blessed with billions of shillings ?
Can you redistribute your blessings or will you store them away for your future descendants?
Can you give away all your money to help humanity?

Kuna The Giving Pledge which is a campaign to encourage extremely wealthy people to contribute a majority of their wealth to philanthropic causes
The organization’s stated goal is to inspire the wealthy people of the world to give at least half of their net worth to philanthropy, either during their lifetime or upon their death.
Most of the signatories of the pledge are billionaires, and their pledges total over $500 billion.

The U.S has really changed for the worse especially when you see people sleeping on the street in one of the richest countries in recent history. There was a time when man cared for fellow man.
Because the U.S was built by poor immigrants when they became billionaires in this new land they would set up schools, towns, markets etc. So you would find a billionaire setting up Yale school for the poor in society. He lives half his wealth to Yale. Yale becomes a great campus but instead of keeping to the founder’s ideals of helping the poor the school becomes an exclusive school for the rich offering a few impossible to get scholarships to the poor.
Instead of that country welcoming immigrants, today they shut everyone out.

that’s how capitalist economy works the rich get richer, the poor get poorer
