Alexandre Lacazette has put pen to paper on a deal that makes him the highest paid player at Arsenal as the club prepare to officially announce their new record signing.

The France international completed a medical on Tuesday afternoon ahead of a £52 million move to Arsenal, surpassing the £42.5m paid to Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.

And, according to the Mirror, Lacazette will receive a salary that matches his price tag, becoming the new highest earner at the Emirates on £200,000-a-week.

The 26-year-old, who has been tracked by Arsene Wenger for numerous years, signs on for five years and is expected to be unveiled later on Wednesday.

However, according to football.london, Arsenal fans may have to wait a while to see their new man in action, with the Frenchman set to return to France to get his affairs in order.

The rest of the squad – many of whom reported back for pre-season at the start of the week – will fly to Sydney on Sunday, but Lacazette is not likely to join them.

Instead, Arsenal will allow the Lyon striker to fly back to France and tie up any loose ends ahead of his move to England, with the Gunners booking him onto a different flight later next week.

Arsenal’s first match of pre-season takes place on Thursday, July 13, and Lacazette faces a race against time to be in Australia in time to take part.

The Gunners take on Sydney FC first, followed by Western Sydney Wanderers two days later, and then fly to China for a mouth-watering double-header against Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

Lacazette was the second highest scorer in Ligue 1 last season with 28 goals in 30 games, while he bagged an astonishing 37 in all competitions.

mbele iko Sawa

Hata giroud alikam akiwa top scorer but let us wait and see how prolific he is

Bado itakuwa tu “next season”

I think mbape was the best bet, but acha tuone kama ni next season

Nilikua namezea griezmann mate but lacazette will do. Wenger knows best

I knew this was a done deal, but i wish it was Mbappe. But it’s a fantastic acquisition. #ATID

Hii nilicheki iliivana. Thats a positive start, lakini… Wacha tuone analeta winger mgani…

Mbappe sahau. He might even decide to stay at Monaco instead. But wacha tuone…

Mbappe is overrated. Eti 120 million is just too much.

true, goal machine HARRY KANE anamshinda mbali

I wouldn’t say overrated, ako tu pale anafaa kuwa, problem is, not many youngsters perform well on the bigger stages kama UCL, but he’s even outperformed seasoned players. Sasa media ikiingia hapo kila kitu inaharibika. In real sense, he’s worth 50-60m, but the hype has taken over and big clubs are fighting for him, hence the insane price tag…

Nilikuuliza Hurricane alikuwa wapi at that very age…CR mwenyewe alikuwa wapi at age 18?

The weight of expectation is bigger than last season but we have to wait and see if he will improve.

Lacazette ameland :D:D:D:D:D

Everton is asking 100 m for Lukaku, eti Man Utd is interested.

Giroud is always selected ahead of Lacazzete in France internationals so I don’t understand what all this hullabaloo is about.
