he should just leave quietly and not try to dig in. These people have been very patient with him.

Impeaching the president is the next step when Parliament resumes Tuesday, and lawmakers will ‘definitely’ put the process in motion, the main opposition’s parliamentary chief whip told The Associated Press.

Hunger strike or not, RGM has three options:

  1. Voluntarily relinquish the presidency and negotiate a soft landing;

  2. Impeachment and an inglorious exit;

  3. Death at the hands of angry crowds let loose like those that finished Ghaddafi. Very gory.

Surprised people think “the people” have now taken power…My bet is the Mnagagwa fellow will be worse…

I agree with you, because unless they change the governance system, it will still be the same old ZANU PF under a different person ruling. Just like it happens in China, Tz…
This is very similar to how Zuma deposed Mbeki from ANC’s leadership, only that he did not use the military

“Mugabe was better” Zimbabweans, they will say ten years into the future.

Just as today we are saying the Baks was the best.

Sad Mugabe had to go this way. However it will be shock for Zimbabweans as the West and China scramble for their resources that only their leaders will benefit.

People have a way of painting a rosy past and getting nostalgic, but you do not want to go back to those days…

Maybe you could argue that we were ‘safe’ from tribalism, but the economic growth stagnated and we were set back by decades development-wise, a judicial system that didn’t work, elections were a charade, public institutions that failed, and those who could not brave the torture chambers and the secret police could only look on helplessly.

Compound that with a rising population, and unemployment levels would be astronomic.

Even sites like this would be heavily regulated, or shut down whenever they posed a threat to the ruling class. There would be no Zuku, Faiba, etc, but only tightly regulated access to the Internet.

We have challenges. Democracy is a constant struggle, the most important thing is to ensure we’re always making progress.

Start with yourself instead of holering about ethnicity
