building your parents a house

From a facebook online discussion

I judge your parents if they had to wait for you to build them a house. They lived their life and had their chances, if they couldn’t build for themselves, well their loss.
In my culture it’s not seen well that a parent waits for the child they gave birth to, to build them a house. It’s kind of failing adulting. I don’t understand how it’s a way of life in Kenya. I’d be so embarassed.
Different cultures, different beliefs. I guess… https://z-p3-static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tf1/1/16/1f4af.png

.This issue of most African parents using their children as an investment has been holding us back for long time.Imagine with this kind of life, when you have to deal with your parents needs plus your own.Yes we have to aid them but dealing with their failed responsibilities some times drags us back that we can not prosper coz we are constantly looking back instead of going forward contributing to a series of generational poverty.

Watu wa old-money hatunanga hii shida …

This only happens when broke people breed like rats in the hopes that one kid will save them from misery.

In the modern age, security yako uzeeni sio watoto - ni pesa. That’s why even billionaires don’t get many kids anymore like kings of the past.

You are better off with a mansion, assets, and 2/3 kids than 6 kids and no assets.

Ile siku mzazi wake ataiaga dunia, workmates wachange za mazishi na wateue some representatives kuleta rambirambi zao, wapate a grass thatched house halafu walinganishe na ustaarabu wa their colleague huko mjini… Hiyo afisi haitakalika.

Wajengee wazazi, pengine karo yako ndio ilikuwa kizingiti cha wao kutojenga.

Sio jukumu la mwana kutegemewa na wazazi

Hakuna faida kuishi kama mfalme huko Nairobi ilhali wazazi wanaishi kama panya ocha. Ile kidogo mungu amekupea kula pamoja na family

Hii ni vitisho boss. Jenga yako kwanza, mzazi baadaye.

kuna jamaa alosemanga hapa ati anaishi kw babayake ba baba yake anaishi kwa baba yake pia:D:D:D

nimejengea mbuyu kiongozi 5 bedroom Kanduyi bungoma and i have no regrets

Black tax is something that we as Africans should work so hard to eradicate by ensuring that our current generation is empowered through education as well as job opportunities so that none of us ever becomes a burden to the next generation.

It’s a noble cause ,don’t listen to cursed mothwrfucken dogs here , take care of Barents and u will b a beta human and blesd.dont worry andwritin nmekunywa baloozi 23 na ugal kilo 2

so unachekea nani , umbwa hii

:D:D:DKocha niaje?

Muhindi wako must be paying you well ama ni pesa ya wamama ulipita nayo

That’s why the wealth of most Africans last only 1 generation.
I dare say it’s the parent who should build a house for his children and not the other way round.

Muhindi by the time amemaliza high school, anakuwa mentored into the family business ata kama yeye alikuwa dander head.
Alafu anafunzwa investment, asset management etc mpaka anatafutiwa bibi sio kunguru.
With the help of his parents, he will also get a nice house to live in with his family.
The wealth stays in the family for generations.

:D:D:D

Wale wazungu kwao hakuna black tax, wamejawa na upweke, huwa wanakufa wakiwa lonely, marafiki zao ni mbwa na paka.

Guys don’t be harsh to your parents because in the last 50 years we have transitioned from the traditional African society to modern society.

You see in traditional time kids were a source of wealth juu they provided labour for you in farming( kulisha cattle, planting, cultivating & harvesting) plus dowry was paid for girls and this led to wealth creation.

Fast forward we are in modern time children are now the number one source of poverty juu

1.Kuna school fees & other expenses until 18 years or more. So kuzaa kama panya is a disadvantage.

2.There is a scarcity of resources (land) juu watu ni wengi already.

 1. Machines (robots, computers & tools) which have replaced human labour. Of course they are more efficient and have contributed massively to unemployment. By the way kuna artificial intelligence eg. self driving cars so in the future jobs mob zitaenda.

4.Colonisation , capitalism & corruption has caused a lot of poverty juu tunajua ni wachache wanafaidika na sisi wengine ni slaves wa kuthukuma ,was kulipa tax & a market for finished goods.

So in the end POVERTY has confused AFRICANS to the point that instead of inheriting wealth from their parents just in like in the Bible, in the west & in traditional African society the reverse is happening. Poor people hexpect to raise kids with bare minimum resources hoping wataomoka ndio sasa they build houses for parents na wasomeshe wadogo wao & other forms of black tax

I don’t see a mistake building for them especially if they were not capable of

jengea wazazi nyumba kama unaweza… they’re the only ones who give a shit about you
