as someone who hails from kakamega and vihiga let me make something very clear: Wycliffe Ambetsa oparanya has no equal in kakamega…he barely campaigned for re-election in 2013 and if rules were different he would easily capture the governorship again. His influence is felt in neighbouring counties who all wish they had a governor like him…Atwoli, weta, madvd and any other pretender don’t have the kind of influence that the dude has…his only undoing is that he’s not charismatic enough, he is not corrupt enough, he is not colourful enough and has no political bad manners like the rest of the so called leaders otherwise he would now be the undisputed western supremo. I would also add that he is not ambitious enough and is happy to play deputy to Rao.
Wycliffe could have easily consolidated his support in kakamega, vihiga, a big part of transnzioa and small portions of bungoma and nandi… He can’t win over bungoma…and the likes of weta and didmus will transport end use youth from that county to try and course some commotion in kakamega. Ruto has already seen the signs and has cleverly concentrated on bungoma. If I were Rao I would have let oparanya be in charge of the bukhungu BBI meet.
