Buying a Motorbike; Looking for Pointers...

Hey Talkers,

There comes a time when you’ve just had it with Nbi. traffic!!:mad::mad:

I’ve decided to look for a bike…

Minimum 200cc, 35-40kmpl, ABS (if possible), Perimeter Frame (for stiffness & handling), Race Exhaust (with that thoaty sound… LOL, JK), Budget: 300-400k

Any make & model recommendations?

Sande sana.

@introvert wahitajika hapa jajuok wa wd40.

Saving to get my hands on a proper BMW, Kawasaki or ducati

Chukua suzuki alto, kanapitanga kando ya jam kama kawasaki

This has been discussed here like a thousand times… @Ice_Cube patia huyu link.

Build quality is above average, I think.
Then you have the advantage of dealer support.
Jump in.

are motorbikes tax exempted? if not, whats the tax per cc? saidia mimi priss

enda nduthi.com utafte pikpik hapo. Ama uambie makanika 1 @introvert asaidie wewe.Goodluck

You need a scooter bro. 125cc small and very compact.

Those big bikes are no different from a car in terms of kupenya kwa jam

This kwa jam its too big kaka.

I ride a scooter and i have left behind these sizes sana kwa jam.

They are good when the road is clear.

Scooters are great because of their twist and go.

But why an automatic nduthi buana…? doesn’t it get boring.

there was a law that bikes under 200cc had been exempted from taxes…but don’t bank on it KRA lazima wakunyonye one way or the other. Avoid those Chinese bikes kina yamaana, focin et al. Kama unataka durability and not caring about looks n shet go for a Yamaha DT 175 huko toyota kenya inaweza songa 55-60 km/l. I don’t know about its price but its a good small bike by all standards especially if your issue is just about daily commuting. Shida ya other fancy named bikes with such a budget ni dealer support haiko. But pesa ni yako, so knock your self out

Hehehe nimeona wengi waking’oa bumpers za watu juu ya kuchanganyikiwa saa ya shifting.

Hio 2nd na 1st petrol inameza sana lol

It gets boring its SAFE. I have rode a scooter for 4yrs with ONLY 3 minor accidents.

DT ni za watu kukata stima na watu wa maji.

They are noisy. But good for off road

Agree ziko na hako kasauti kama mnyambo imefinywa but i think those co.s and traffic dpt buy them coz of their durability. DTs are more like the landrover defenders of the under 180cc two wheel world.

Yaani you had kutafuta mahali utaingiza mnyambo hehehe you are sick.

Durability depends on the handler.

Everything breaks

I cringe when a certain client insists that I pick her scooter from her office.
Nasikianga aibu saidi kuride hiyo kitu hata naweza vaa helmet mbili.
I used to lane split comfortably on a 1200 Suzuki with side panniers.
The sound of the air cooled inline 4 and scale of the bike would cut a path right through the traffic.

Hehehe lane splitting is inviting death
