Hello guys, which is the best option between Caldina cars and Fielder cars in terms of cost and fuel consumption?

if you are planming to buy locally used, go for Caldina bora the previous owner had kept it well. If you are importing, you don’t have a choice but fielder because Caldina was discontinued more than 8 years ago, so you can not bring one to kenya due to the customs regulations. I think Caldina is a cool car
The Caldina sits above the fielder in terms of it being a higher spec car than the Fielder. Kinda like comparing a c-klasse to an E-klasse. Whereas the fielder is generally based on the corolla chassis, the caldina is based on the Premio chassis generally.
Having said that, if your main concern is fuel consumption, cost, availability of spares then go for the fielder.
If you want a better driving experience, larger car and are not too concerned about consumption, go for the Caldina. It did come with many engines starting with a 1.5 litre so you may still want to try it with a 1.5 litre all the way up to the 3SGTE which puts out about 270hp if I remember correctly. But being a large car, you may feel it abit underpowered if you take the 1.5. The most common engine I think was a 1.8 and given that they arent too many caldina’s around today, this is may be the one you have in mind .

Caldina has worse fuel economy. Fielder any day. Better fuel economy, cheaper spares, readily available spares and labor etc.
Zote ni plain cars even though caldina iko na kaheshima fulani. Fielder gari huwezi park mahali na amani. Anyway fielder it has a better fuel consumption because of lesser weight. but you are likely to find identical 1.5L or 1.8L engines in both cars. If you buy fielder locally it is most likely abused junk. Hakuna mtu hajuangi madereva wa fielder.

I have a colleague who owns one, shida tupu. He’s tried to offload but to no avail.
nikusukumie na ukirushwa? wewe import pesa yako inatosha unaeza ongeza 50k tu ndo upate mileage iko chini. tafuta 2012 axio luxel 1.8L cheaper than 1.5L and most likely in better condition. beware the latest axio is very ugly. very fuel efficient all round and especially on long journeys while laden. find the balance between load and power. kama huwes nunua alllion ya 900k kcm ama kcn hapo olx same 1.8L engine but a bigger car and better interior. ama premio ya 1.1m kcn same engine. dont buy a car that has ever been repainted ama imeparara na hiyo pesa.
i have an uncle who has a caldina GT…aliuziwa second hand ikiwa in mint condition but the turbo engine broke down later on. That thing was powerful.
