A shocking video shows the moment an American couple narrowly escaped machete-wielding bandits on a rural road in Kenya.

Bryant Swenson was driving down a dirt road near Maai Mahiu, Kenya, with his wife Lauren on November 30 when the couple - who are from Utah but live currently in Nairobi - came upon a white matatu that was hijacked by masked thugs, only for the Matatu to speed off leaving the family to sort themselves.

After a quick short reverse, the couple then surged their 4WD forward, narrowly escaping the near miss ordeal…
