Chinese rims

Firstly, below is the performance of a chinese made sample. These chinese rims i see being fitted on many cars here in kenya. You can get a set from $160 for a 14 inch in nairobi. This translates to ksh 4000 a piece for an alloy wheel. Really? Si chinese wako na jokes. scratched very easily. I hear they are made of scrap and makers have no idea what metal they used. Cheapest new genuine alloy wheels begin at $1200 and above for a set if the manufacturer is local to the country of purchase. Imports are another story.

genuine second hand ex germany, ex uk, or ex japan are usually too old, scratched or paint faded and finding a good one is needle in a haystack problem; and they are still twice or thrice as expensive. Even when you find good second hand ones that fit your wheel hub and studs, most often than not, they are not made for your car engine size, torque, power at the wheel, or even looks(body shape). So you install them and effect is opposite(your car is ugly, lags and consumes more). light rims are not cast, but forged and visibly less chunky. We have no idea how chinese make theirs. Whats your opinion of Chinese rims and tires here in kenya?

watu watajua cheap is expensive when the rims fails at high speed kwa highway

Is that a “Chinese” Bentley?

Hehe izi rims ndizo naonaga mwenye gari ako na wheel spanner. kila time ni kutighten screws .

Africa should reduce shiny rim consumption. It’s a waste of money.

I am always dazzled by my friend at car wash. He usually start washing car from the rims, and spend disproportionate zeal to clean rims at expense of rest of the car.

There something like emotional attachment to shiny rim.

I bet you could have @introvert Paint a 3d image of the desired rim on your wheelcaps for full effect

The Chinese have got a wide range of quality.

lug nuts for alloys.

Kuna rims lakini used OEM ama original BBS, Enkei, Eco Forme, and the likes. just be wary of the weight in case of OEM. lakini ni expe.

Iko jangili pale industrial area ilituuzia Lug nut 5k a piece ati coz it was an e34. But the rims were the real deal From Deutsches Reich

Mimi nimekatalia my stock steels na original banana rims.
Sipendi negro behaviour.

Easily solved by getting the right wheel nuts for the rims.

Incidentally, this is part of the problem that plagues our building and construction industry. Hizo chuma za ujenzi nyingi aren’t pure and therefore do not behave as expected.

Hapa laumu importers who have a habit of going for the cheapest bila kuuliza maswali. If you want quality in China, you will get it.If you are just a plain trader who does not look beyond prices, you end up with problems.

This problem is all-pervasive.
One of the top three steel mills in Japan has admitted to faking test results on the integrity of their steel.
Besides car manufacturers like Nissan, panic has reached even UK train builders who use their product.
Worst thing is the cooked results date back a decade.
Hehe.
So as you ride in your brand new second hand jalopy, chunga head-on collision na nduthi.
It is you that might die.

From cooked profits to cooked books, hizi corporates tamalisa sisi.

Come to think of it, I chanced on that story of the Japanese steel mill in the news early this week!

Somebody once narrated how some of these broken/ cracked alloy rims are welded at Ngara, kisha zinapakwa filler, zinapigwa sandpaper, given a new coat of shiny paint and buffed, then taken to the shops awaiting a new customer.
