Cold air intake

I have been looking into this stuff. I am really considering it as i build up towards owning a blower engine. Who has some insights from the real world other than what is on the internet.

Note: The engine i am working with is good for the taking.

Stuff works? How many horses can that squeeze in?

ata mimi nataka kujua kuhusu hii, nani ameweka na inaongeza farasi wangapi?

It depends…for maximum effect, a tune needs to be done so that the higher air density (due to the colder air as compared to the normal intake) is taken into account by the ECU, otherwise the benefits of just installing a cold air intake are marginal. If by blower you mean supercharger, a cold air intake would work best with an intercooler, an ECU remap is also necessary for this. The best engines for blowers are Japanese naturally aspirated V6’s and V8’s and American V8’s(Most come naturally aspirated). The Europeans, except in minor occasions use turbos this days, you can add bigger turbos, better downpipes and ECU remapping(Audi/Volkswagen turbo engines are really modifiable until they grenade themselves or confine you to exotic fuels) …hope that helps and best of luck to you

Belt/chain/mechanically driven superchargers…for some reason always go bust & are way less reliable than exhaust gas driven turbos. I rest my case.
