Colonialism in Kenya and independence

We have been too quick to forget what the white man did to our forefathers and is still doing to us. Even after all this we see the white man as some sort of god.
Then again, maybe he is. What he did with the land we still cannot do 100 yrs later.

But black people havent even tried to do for themselves.... The only one of few leaders that did that was Thomas Sankara who managed to eraze famine in his short 4 years in power with his no aid and self suffiency policy. The facts is that black people havent tried to live without the white men and those who have tried have been ousted.

In short, we are still being colonised.

According to Caroline Elkins-Imperial Reckoning,What the white settlers did unto Us is still being done by the black colonialist that took over in 1963 having hijacked the process to independence. The new victors chose the path of forgive and forget and the departing colonialists were happy to oblige meanwhile the suffering activists endured silence through the 39 years of Kenyatta and Moi rule(-both conservative and beneficiaries) and only until Mwai Kibaki came to power was Mau Mau unproscribed and they could now sue for crimes committed.
