If God was/ is the beginning of all things.
Where did evil / bad come from whileas God is all good?
While you sad lot have been thinking of useless things all morning , I have been thinking much awesomeness and I have a theory.
What if God had both good and bad in equal proportions? You know nature, the nature of God. He advocates for balance all time.
So, He God himself got out His bad side and pushed it into an angel at that time called Lucifer.
Think about it. Lucifer was thrown out of heaven with 1/3 of the angels, Angels that worshipped God, but lucifer and this bad in him managed to convince 1/3 ? see This must be one major bad. besides angels are all good right? Heaven should be a good place and everything in it all together, so damned lucy had to be thrown out away from God and His holiness.
anyway, to back up my theory, I think there is still a competition between good and bad, even here on earth. Good outdoes bad and bad outdoes good sometimes . what if one part seeks to dominate over the other?
I have been wondering, why would God go to such a major step as to offer His only Son Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice of the sinful nature of mankind ?. He is God right? Just a snap of His fingers would do the trick. Why go through that mess and suffer for His son?
by the way, why do christians suffer and toil? Why do gruesome deaths occur when God almighty is still in the throne?
Am loosing my mind here
good and evil come from inside us. So is it logical to say that Satan is another name for God? Arguing that Satan is the evil side of this supreme being and God is the good side of this supreme being. Just the same way we are all good and evil.
I would argue all. Why? Because it is us humans who label or determine what is good and what is bad (evil or wrong). That is, goodness or evil are mere social constructs that are created by humans. We don’t see evil in the animal kingdom because humans have not labeled it as so. For instance, a lion killing a zebra is not evil because humans have not labeled it as so. If we were to label it as evil, then it will henceforth be described as so. What is my argument? What is right or wrong depends on how humans view it. These two constructs are dependent. I would argue they do not occur naturally. Where humans are, you will find them and in plenty. Then it follows that all living things are evil, on that humans are selective in their labeling
I think the correct term to use is that all living things work in self interest. There are good and bad animals. You ,and animals too, can read can read it in body language. Animals and plants(despite not having brains) have a conscience. But because plants do not have a brain, if they do anything that offends you then you cannot hold it against them. Therefore not all living beings are evil, but they always act in self interest.
Those are two different dimensions to bring forth a comparison mahn.
Humans and wild animals? Really? dont dumb-fold me now.
The basis of interest is the human world, the human relations. An understanding brought forth by our greatest ancestors and passed through generations.
Good and bad was defined during times of abraham, jacob, Adam and all oldest people . We are learning new languages every decade but the core meanings do not change.
Language was made known to man since long ago. God also took part in the influence of communications. Quickly look at the tower that was being built in one of the stories from the bible, where all the diversity originated from?? …
This language we speak is a definition of communications stamped by God Himself.
Very well said. @SledgeHammer this is what I was trying to communicate. To add, evil may also be explained by resource scarcity (which leads to self interest) and people’s obsession to control others for whatever reason
It is said that we are made in the image of God. We were in the garden of Eden living equally like our creator. Was that real equality? Or we became equal (deviant)when we ate from the tree of knowledge?
