Why shut them down? They just need to be sound proofed to being the decibels down.

Churches ndio zinafaa ziondolewe.

Clubs zitoke residential areas. Period.

Usitueke kwa shida kaka, We know nada abt her.

There is a reason why they are called residential areas…feed your head.

There’s a club that gave residents an offer to have their houses soundproofed instead of the club lowering music volume.
On churches I agree with you.

We don’t need drunk people misbehaving where our kids play in their neighborhood. Pubs ziwekwe in town and market centres

Wewe mbwa enda ukauze mkia Kwa streets hatutaki bars in residential areas

This is the bonobo way of handling situations. The black bonobo species does not understand diplomatic ways of resolving issues. The bonobo prefers using brawn over brains. The govt gave the bar owners their buildng approvals, licences etcetera but now of course it turns around and chooses violence.

You will find even an ageing makwak like @Abba reacting very angrily to a slight and the next thing you know instead of being diplomatic, he pulls out the machette he bought at Khetias supermarket :

Sisi ndio tuko kwa grrrrrrround. Sisi ndio kuongea

I agree they should have been given a grace period say an year to relocate

Why?

What if they sue the government and relevant authorities? I foresee court cases. Huwezi wacha mtu atumie mamilioni kujenga bar then all of a sudden it’s illegal

Coz, people are employed there, why disrupt livelihoods at once, si afadhali watu wajipange

It’s unfortunate that investments are being stifled.

But, any keen observer will note that Mututho Laws have been clear on where a pub/club/bar/wines and spirits etc can be located. Those contravening that law should face the consequences. They could not be shut down for the sole reason of being in restricted areas. Last time people tried that, court cases zikaongezeka.

Sasa hii approach ya Noise pollution is the best. They can’t circumvent because evidence has been recorded and submitted to relevant authorities. Na rais akasema kazi iendelee.

Aren’t there people living around the club’s? Isn’t there peace and quiet being disrupted every night? Isn’t their security in question with all the people patronizing the clubs? Don’t they deserve peace and quiet?

Hope the enforcement continues indefinitely, isikue kama ile ya bodaboda

This morning I watched a KTN News anchor trying to muffle Gladys Shollei not to mention names of the Kenyan based companies that sell cancer causing pesticides. It was very awkward when the anchor tried to find the line between factual reporting and and the media house’s image. Shollei ended up saying she’ll take the responsibility of any lawsuits that may arise.

What does the enabling statutes say about the location and operation of pubs and night clubs? As someone said hapo juu, feed your head.

shida ingine pia ni change of user, unapata residential hse inageuzwa commercial use, inakuwa danguro na tavern
