By the way, what does the law say about seizing assets acquired through corrupt deals? Is it allowed in Kenya since all I hear is getting the sack and facing jail time which I think are hardly enough. One needs to hit these corrupt individuals where it hurts and that’s in their pockets. So can the assets of corrupt people be seized once found guilty of corruption?
Yes. But the problem is proof of corruption.

That should be the case but it’s never enforced in our country.
The proof is always there for all to see. The problem is that the people who are supposed to enforce it are also mired in the same deals.
Weak cases, clueless prosecutors, corruptible judges.The system works to assist the corrupt not to punish them.
There is a procedure for forfeiture [to the state] of unexplained assets [which are presumed to have been obtained through corruption].
As to whether that has ever been or will ever be done, that’s a whole different question.
