COURSE

My young cousin got a B+ and is applying for these KUCCPS courses na he’s torn between Mechanical/Marine Engineering, Computer Science and Real Estate.
All I could tell him was to think about which one would be more lucrative in the next 5 years, yaani when he’ll be done.
Naomba tu maoni ya wazee sasa:)
Insights please?

Choosing a course has become a headache nowadays. No certificate is assured of a job after graduation

Mwambie achukue education science.

Mwambie afuate passion… Softwre development isn’t much saturated so he can consider computer science. (JKUAT)

Real estate ni course gani tena? Toa hiyo.
Where’s his passion? Although I can’t really advice someone to do a course based on passion alone. Go for the biggest bucks that your grades can allow, passion you can find after you clock out of work…
If he has to do engineering afanye Computer and electrical eng.

Engineering (BIG NO), computer science (kama hana passion ya ku code na self development awachane nayo)…
My advice: EDUCATION SCIENCE

What is education science? You’re the second person to mention it on this thread.

Afanye medicine. Kama mna shamba uzeni io shamba atainunua tena 2 years after graduation. Engineering huchukua mtu 17 years kitambo ajenge jina.

Yes… He’s interested in comp-tech stuff…
Plus aliongeleshwa hii story ya passion akasema he’ll just be open minded… Pesa ndio muhimu.
Alafu… hio science education ni nini?

Mwambie afanye a health related course. Alafu angoje Corona ifike, he’ll be a millionaire over night

:DI have laughed just picturing the family’s reaction to this suggestion.
Ni idea noma sana though.

But the kid already made it clear he hates biology and is likely to drop any medical course.

I did computer science. It’s all about passion and self-education. I graduated late last year.
Education science ni highschool teacher eg(physics/math),(bio/chem),(business/math).

Mwambie asome Architecture, Electrical, Comp Science, e.t.c e.t.c. He’ll not be assured kupata job, but he can self employ himself

Being a high school teacher employed by TSC is the BEST job in kenya today

Ambia yeye asomee fashion and design. Akimaliza system ashike cherehani. Atakafunga huko Kwa cherehani hakuna over saturation. Job ni kushona vitu Kali. Hapa otungu will smell.

I did drawing and design in high school, I was so good in design and drawing itself, I missed this course ju it required kedo 77 points and I had 69. Oh shait mannn.

hii ni course ya @Randy

Bado sijapata job, so I can not about the good or the bad of computer science. But i have some classmates who had luck on their side, they are earning 45-70k pm,
Most of the peoples who didi education are being employed by BOG, they earn less than 20k.
Alafu i know peoples who graduated(education) 5years ago na bado TSC haijawa-employ

Ile siku watachukuliwa na TSC utaona difference.

Best job, using what metric?
