Cristiano Ronaldo Vs Lionel Messi: Statistically Speaking

First of all, I’m not a football fan, so I really don’t care about the sport. In fact, I only watched the champions league final because I happened to be in the same room as some fans. So ata sikuwa nimepanga. Football for me is not a matter of life and death. Having said that, whenever Cristiano is mentioned, people must compare him with Messi, and vice versa. So I went looking for statistics, records that the two players hold. Behold:

Now, the source of these statistics is wikipedia, but I trust they’re accurate. Note that for Messi, his statistics have been updated more recently (May 2018) while Cristiano’s are a little dated (7 March 2018). With Real Madrid’s recent win, Cristiano is bound to add more records. I know, some of you will bring up nonsensical arguments like sijui Cristiano scores most of his goals against small, useless teams, bla bla bla…but facts are facts. For the complete list of these records (La Liga, Europe, country) go to the players’ respective Wikipedia pages.
Wadau, having reviewed these statistics, and speaking objectively, I must conclude that CR7 is the better player. Sandsana.

Sasa stats ni za nini Kama wewe sio fan, and you then conclude CR7 is a better player based on that Ronaldo has broken more records in comparison to messi?
Ok…

It’s just common sense that if person X breaks more records than person Y, then person X is more likely to be better than Y.

This is a debate for boys. Men debate about ideas, plans, ambitions, not other men’s accomplishments!

Comparisons should only be limited to world and Europe. Ukianza kusema sijui Messi is youngest argentinian to bla bla bla…and Cristiano is not argentinian, then hausaidii. For example naeza kwambia Messi hajawai shinda Copa America, but Cristiano has won the Euro, lakini that would be unfair, because Argentina is not in Europe and Portugal is not in South America. Leta records zinawaweka head to head.

Hii debate inachosha kusema ukweli.

Messi ni baba

Messi is king.

So, based on your argument, the list provided for Ronaldo’s record, yenye inaonyesha they have shared with Messi, has it been included on Messi’s list?

Naona mbili, hiyo ya Ballon d Or na most appearances in FIFPro world XI. Lakini hata tukitoa records zote zenye wanashare, CR7 bado amemlemea. Notice most of Ronaldo’s records start with “only player”.

So you’ve ignored the other stats and choose to cherry pick a few?

I copied and pasted the stats exactly as they are on Wikipedia. You can visit the pages to confirm. In fact, I removed some stats from CR7’s records, that I felt had no connection with football e.g most Facebook likes. But Messi’s are exactly the way they are on his page. On the two main categories, world and Europe, CR7 is still ahead, unless the people who update Messi’s page are sleeping on the job.

Anyway, i am a messi fan, actually a barcelona fan, but believe both are ‘the best in the world’, you cannot separate that from those two.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

I beleive messi is better. To test this. just watch clips of the two. when watching messi leaves you with a certain feeling

CR7 is great no doubt. However if you watch football and factor in tactics Messi has always been the coach’s coach inside the pitch. Messi mambo yote.

roro all the way.

messi bila pingamizi…guy is a wizard, Ronaldo is a flop. EOS
