Following the excitement of the win against Russia, the 50-year-old dashed down after the match to celebrate with the players in the dressing room.
While Theresa May was holed up in Chequers trying to carve a path to Brexit while her cabinet began to rustle with discontent, Ms Grabar-Kitarovic was leaping with joy and congratulating star players including Luka Modric and hero-of-the-hour goalkeeper Danijel Subasic.

After taking her oath in 2015, Grabar-Kitarovic said she will work on making Croatia — which has a 20 per cent unemployment rate and a six-year recession — ‘a rich state.’
She said that after Croatia joined the EU in 2013, ‘I wish we start living the lives of people in the European Union.’
In addition to degrees in international relations and English and Spanish literature, she also attended George Washington and Harvard universities in the U.S. and is fluent in speaks Croatian, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
