If you have free power you can try and might get a hundred or two in shillings at the end of the month.

you won’t earn anything with that hardware

I was researching on this yesterday. Even if you get 250k worth of mining ASICs it would take you about 200 days to break even if you have free electricity. Then from there utapata about 30k per month without factoring in electricity costs. Crypto for now buying and selling later is what looks profitable. For example ZEC (zcash) was worth $30 per coin in December 2016 and around last month ilikua over $240 and currently $188. That means if you had invested 50,000 Kenyan shillings in zcash last december currently ungekua worth 313,000 Kenya Shillings.

Well power is practically free for me i got a 10000 watt small hydro-generator and deep cycle batteries, i was looking to mine the new comer coins, thanks for your insigth though

what about renting hardware

By the way I forgot to mention. This wasn’t actually mining bitcoins, it was for mining some other alt coins which you later convert to bitcoins. You can check on this site https://whattomine.com/

its easier to mine at Ndarugo, ama niaje @Kasighau?

You will have to mine for years and years before you get an equivalent of a bit coin.

Only 3 of the many cryptocurrencies will be home runs. The rest will fold with people’s cash. Most people who invest in cryptocurrencies don’t understand them well enough. It is the next tulip mania but at least the dutch understood tulips

ethereum is the hottest cryptocurrency right now. But you will need a beefy Graphics card before you can even think about making any significant gains. And that is the bare Minimum. serious miners are pairing at least five GPU for the best harsh rate

You can mine Litecoin and Dash profitably.
Problem is the only machines that can do this are Bitmain’s Antminers. But the thing is, they are on demand like silly. They release one batch and it sells out in like 10 minutes. Then a few days later the same machine is on Ebay with a x10 price tag.
The litecoin Asic machine from Bitmain costs something like 250k. It can give you 50k a month.
