Destruction by crushing

…Our KRA wants to crush the below list of cars if not claimed by 19/4/2017. How is it possible to get those vehicles to use on our kenyan roads. Inaniuma kujua they will be crushed yet some of us wouldnt mind driving the above vehicles which were meant for Ugandan market

Vehicle were imported over 10yrs ago am sure wenyewe walisahau.
Gari ya 1986 ni ya nini?

Why not sell them as parts?

These vehicles are not fit to be on our Kenyan roads on account of age.

Si ziuzwe Uganda we get that revenue.

Good idea.

kwanza na vile ningetaka a 1975 classic car ina crushiwa hapo…why should i move around homes looking for a shell to restore while kunayo in good condition only that due to rules, they want to crush it?

Its the law. Hata Mimi sijui kwanini iko hivo.

That was a Local chevy

Donate then to technical institutes. Am sure they would make a lot of difference in practicals for the young introverts.

One of the most stupid laws ever and the digital government has never realised it. Whats the difference between locally produced or assembled motor vehicles and imported ones. The local ones age as well but will never be subject to the age limit rule since they are not crossing any border or port. We end up with more older and unsound cars on our roads while denying mechanically sound cars of whatever age. Its a stupid law that is not based on any science. 8 is just a number. It can be 2 or even 24. A corrupt traffic police force does us more harm than any number of old vehicles will do. Also, we give Japan n others much more of the crucial dollars to buy the ‘newer’ cars than we are supposed to. Forex that would be better used to buy essential medical equipment for example

I agree with you, we have stupid laws, we support japanese to buy brand new cars by offering them a ready market to dispose their old ones. The way it ought to be is that new cars should be less taxed while old car should be heavily taxed. And that age limit should be done away with

I agree 100%. We should check the condition, not the age.
