Nawaambia usiseme ushai endesha gari kama hujalilisha engine ya gari in a Germany Autobahn. So last year nilienda business trip…i have the international DL other than the kenyan one. So i was driving there. Wazito!!! Si gari zinapepea huko. Drivers are very disciplined…kama uko slow unakaa kwa slow lane si kama hapa kenya msee amekwamilia kwa slow lane. Watu wanatumia signals as needed. Hakuna bumps, hakuna pedestrians na punda zimevuta mkokoteni kwa barabara. Hakuna maniacs wa nduthi huko. So nikafika some sections hazina speed limit. Yaani pale nguvu za gari yako ndio kusema. So i was driving a Peugeot na sio 504 kama ile error ya village…yaani nasukuma gari niko 200 km/hr but napitwa na magari…if there is a place you need to own a sports car ni Germany…the roads and the no speed limit are just awesome. So nikisukuma my Peugeot napitwa na akina BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, Camaro and some big machines. Yaani uko kwa left lane unapita gari ingine at 200km/hr ukiangalia rear view mirror unaona BMW ama Audi inakupigia mataa utoe gari ya peasants kwa fast lane. Unapitwa hadi gari yako inatingishwa na upepo ya gari inakupita. Lets just say the system there is awesome. Hakuna makarau wa kukusumua…huko ni speed cameras and traffic cameras. Unapatanga tu barua ya fine kwa mailbox. So my buddy alinishow bado sijaona gari zikikimbizwa. Alinishow summer time ndio machines hutolewa from the garage as most rich guys don’t drive their expensive cars in winter time coz of the salt in the roads. Summer ndio Maserati, Lamborghini hutolewa…hadi kuna Autobahn Tourists…people who fly from all over the world to Germany just to drive there. That was an experience

Huku Kenya kugonga 120kph na gari ya Japan, unafeel gari ni kama inataka kufly because of uneven road surface! Worse still, Bumps bila marks zimewekwa Kwa barabara, unastukia bumps iko 50M away na uko 120kph, hapo ndio unasikia Tu brakes ikilia. Unmarked bumps is what really pisses me off with Kenyan roads
If you are paying for the whole speedometer then better use the whole speedometer.
What pisses me even more are bumps that are not standardized, kila contractor anaweka size yake. some decide to put humps with full knowledge no saloon car car pass over them. What is so difficult giving a guide on height and width of every bump erected on kenyan roads.
Its coz hunijui personally. Kuna watu wanapiga umalaya hii village but they are doing well in life…like i said before. Siwezi andika hekaya ya uonge nifurahishe village…mimi ndio nitakuwa najidanganya.
Its a good experience. Yaani unasukuma gari hadi mwili inasema enough is enough. Yaani kitu vile inakimbia uko na allowance ya zero error. Ukifanya blander hiyo ndae ianguke wewe kweisha hivo. Another amazing thing ni vile nilikuwa nimefinyilia mafuta hadi gari haina any more acceleration…kisha napitwa na ka grandmother kanasukuma Mercedes hadi unabambika.
Its a good experience. You can rent an exotic car too. Ama ukienda kwa rental agencies unachukua premium car…usually ni BMW, Mercedes or Audi…kitu iko low, wide and heavy…with some HP under the hood. Best bang for your money
Exactly…unanunua big machine mtaani and the roads cant allow you to test its limit. Huko ndio niliona the only place where owning a sports car would make sense. Hata sport bike huko uko poa
