Dust in PC

If dust accumulates in a laptop’s fan affecting airflow for CPU cool down, will that affect performance in gaming? How much does it cost to get the dust removed?

Any place with compressed air will help
But avoid very high pressure.

Any solid-state electronic and dust don’t go together. Use a brush to work the dust loose then blow hard…

Yes. The fan will need to spin faster to push air to cool the CPU. If it cannot cool the CPU fast enough then the MoBo might do some thermal throttling.

I would tell you to clean your laptop yourself but it looks like you might not know how to. Most ‘technicians’ will charge a fee just to open up the laptop cover. Anything from 500.

I’d recommend you learn to do this yourself because you’ll be needing to do it again… and you’ll be much more gentle/careful with your own computer than someone who has to deal with three or four in a day; and whose only motivation is money.

Invest in a small blower.

Dust affects performance in both gaming and rendering. Just buy a blower

Kayoleeeee sio…

Best way to clean a laptop is to take it apart, overtime the dust bunnies form a blanket like blockage on the vents (mostly between the fan and heatsink vent). When using a blower or compressed air utilize a pin or paperclip to block the fan from rotating as this will spoil the fan bearing.
