These Jabra Elite 7 Actives are the bomb! Most of you know that Nyamgondho wuod Ombare lost the more expensive Jabra Elite 7 Pro which I had pre-ordered sometimes last year.
Earlier on I had decided to switch brands but I couldn't get earbuds with equivalent features. And in that list I considered Sennheiser, Bose, Sony, Beats, Master & Dynamic and so on.
The reason, I didn't get back to Elite 7 Pro is coz the grip was poor. Although they were small and comfortable they didn't sit well in my ears. In more than one occasion my left earbud fell off and it often took time to retrieve. The 7 Actives have some special silicone coating that keeps in place..and so far it seems to work perfectly.
What's really pleasing is the sound stage... They sound very much like the 7 Pros but with a little more bass. And this makes a huge difference! I understand that the extra bass is for energizing athletes during intense workouts.
The bass is commanding but never gets muddy even at max volume. The bass is really clean.. the mids are quite intelligible and vocals are really clear & crisp and don't get drowned out by the bass.
Songs like Da Rockwilder- Red & Meth and The Box - Roddy Ricch got me nodding my head in public while rhumba by Madilu got me singing along. Overall a wonderful listening experience.
On these, I like my bass a little heavy, I often raise the upper mids a little so I can hear instruments clearly and set the trebles abit high to boost brightness and vocals. Here is my EQ settings on my Jabras.
