I don’t understand why Ruto does not seem to get it. That easiest path to occupying State House is to play second fiddle to the current occupant of the Hill, Jayden Uhuru Kenyatta. The man has the instruments of State and the power of overt and covert pursuation. If Uhuru Kenyatta is convinced that him, his family, his political and business partners are safe, Ruto will be a shoe in.
Basically, Uhuru is head of deep state (like any president), and if he is happy, deep state is happy. Moi used the lie low strategy with Kenyatta senior and succeeded. Raila tried what Ruto is doing and failed miserably with both Moi and Kibaki. Why does Ruto think he will succeed Uhuru by engaging in a die.k measuring contest with the current head of state?
Any seasoned but unbiased Kenyan political analyst will tell you that Ruto’s biggest folly in the race to State House is his direct and confrontational approach.
He was too blatant in announcing his bid for the top seat. Too early at that too. He was too blatant in amassing serious loot when he got seat number 2. Him and his troops are also too abrasive. They respond to mosquito bites with hammers. Look at how Nyoro was bitching tonight in Uganda. They amplified a non-issue tactlessly. DP is playing right into the hands of his nemeses and they won’t mind these duels for the next one year.
He is a very astute politician, but he lacks the tact and diplomacy of stealthily navigating the circles that matter most. A bearing and suaveness that soothes. Think of a MaDVD.
Don’t know, don’t care. They are all thieves at the end of the day and none of you will share their loot post-2022. Focus on your own problems kijana. Leave Ruto, Rao, Uhuru etc to their own devices. They don’t even know that you exist. To those guys you are just an ID number, KRA Pin and a commodity (vote).
If you wont be at the till eating with them, you shouldn’t lose sleep over who gets what. Let them fight it out with each other.
You’re comparing RUTO to NYAYO and RAO as if the dynamics are the same.
Positioning himself as an enemy of gov is working just fine for the guy
…
He is beating a sitting president in his own bedroom. The worst thing WSR could do is rely on UHURU when the guy is hellbent to ensure RUTO doesn’t become President
Ruto Ako sawa ,he realized that he was just a means to an end for kinyata and the dynasty families ,he has to hit the ground running and try his luck at being president…he will be the first president who wasn’t already elected in a board room by the boys club.
The way these guys are harrasing Ruto, they are giving him cheap publicity and campaigning for him all over the media. I guess there is not even a single person who does not know Ruto know in Kenya and this will translate to a lot of votes just by mere fact of knowing and association.
I predict that these guys are handing Ruto presidency on silver platter and next year Ruto may well win by over 60% at this rate.
Ruto could not have lay low…it would have been a stupid strategy because after all Uhuru was not interested in handing over the Presidency to him but to Gideon Moi and his allies from the beginning.
Other than that…I also belong to the group that believe that POWER IS NOT GIVEN…ITS TAKEN OR GRABBED
hapa your analysis is off by a mile, Raila never laid low during Kibaki, he was always complaining like in the opposition despite him being PM. Ruto on the other hand has never insulted or talked back at uhuru, if you have evidence, bring it here
