Education and Employability in Kenya

Mimi my honest advice is, if you cannot qualify to study medicine and related courses, or education (there are so many private schools too) and you want to get employed, enroll in a polytechnic and study plumbing, welding, mechanics, and building and construction. But if you just want to get knowledge of the world, party, and interact with friends, join campus.

Few jobs but there is so much work out here. And money. Open eyes

Huezi wacha tufanye anthropology na amani??

Watu wa anthropology .sijui Environment management.Sijui business chieth.you are wasting your time.

Exactly, only fools will refuse to heed your message.

Totally agreed. And the courses are becoming more and mpore ridiculous. Ati Bachelor of Science and Mathematics, Economics and Statistics.

But isn’t this the wrong forum…should go to Secondary schools

Even medicine these days is getting employed in public sector is becoming quite. I know various people who after internship stayed unemployed for a year or two before getting employed in government hospital.

It’s funny how high schoolers despise the teaching profession. I’ve seen teachers doing well.

But then again, how long are those empty slots in plumbing going to be there? Influx ya mayout kwa plumbing is alarming and within a span of 2-3 years we’ll be talking of a flooded market. In short, Kenya ni kujipanga. Usifuate mtu.

Mimi kwanza ni price tag ya hiyo degree I have a problem with. If that degree costs you half a million shillings and you cannot get a job right out of uni achana nayo.

wacha watu wasome, just to give parents some bragging rights. huyu wangu yuko university .

Hapana bwana.

This message is for parents which I believe many of you are. If you refuse to take charge of what your kid majors in, be ready to care for them in your old age.

You forget we have kids who :-
-are admitted to uni for a professional degree but in the first two weeks decide the professional degree is too ngumu for them they switch to a general (unemployable) degree
-Some kids have been guided to pursue some degrees and after graduation take their papers to parents then take off to go pursue their passion (deejaying, smoking and drinking makali)
-Some have squandered school fees and upkeep money for five years then come to post here for someone that can sell them a fake degree paper
-Kids need to be guided early.

Kwa career zote, plumber hawezi kosa kazi juu watu lazima wachieth…

Career does not matter, connections do. It is a global affair, even in America graduates do work as bartenders.

Me think one should study something akakosa Kazi he can still start his own practice. I would never advice someone to take up a course where if you don’t get a job, you are done.

I cannot emphasize this enough.

What about quantity survey? Is this field crowded?
