Engineering course

I have this nephew who is about to join Uni coming Sept . He has an option of 3 courses :-

  1. Chemical engineering
  2. Mechanical engineering
  3. Mechantronic Engineering

Mimi ni mtu ya Juakali and Ive no knowledge in this field. Which would you recommend.

Mechatronics eng is fairly new in the market, recognized by EBK uni ya jkuat, but can log on EBK website aangalie kama wamericognize other universities, but I was in jkuat doing civil so am sure of it’s validity.

I would recommend him to undertake Mechatronics at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology-DeKUT. Dekut has a modern Mechatronics lab which also houses the Siemens certification center. Alternatively, he can undertake mechanical engineering. All courses at Dekut are accredited by EBK.

Yep, he is reporting to this school

Alafu afanye kazi gani?

Am looking for an advice, na wewe unaniuliza maswali.

Ndume ifanye mech (plant option) .

Mechatronics at DeKut, chemical at UoN, avoid mechanical, it’s too crowded

I’d do comp science if I could turn back time!

You should seriously answer this Question, before any other undertaking.
This will give you a very precise idea of the best choice.

Another interesting option is the diploma and degree courses in leather technology being offered at DEKUT.

Kama ni UON go with Mechanical Eng.
Hizi zingine atakanyaga achoke, take my experience

Mechatronics, wish he would have qualified for electrical. A bad electrician is still a good mechanic… In future mechatronics is the way to go , screw EBK and the certification bodies

I

I started with a diploma in Telecommunications Engineering then coupled it with Information Systems. Technical courses are good. EBK is a Scam.

EBK is actually overated, outside kenya people only care of what you actually know skillswise.

Even in Kenya, apart from while seeking government tenders,no one gives a shit about EBK

mechatronics is a better choice…
there are many opportunities due the fact that you can go to do hard-automation/soft automation…
or just go to pure software engineering…

Kwa petroleum or fmcg industry.

Kuchapa hizo ma ingredients za vegetable oil…uki blunder kiasi na watu hawataenjoy their favourite cooking oil…same thing na petrol products.

A friend of a friend of a friend is a chemical engineer but alisoma majuu…msee shabby but amjisort…anakula life na a very big spoon.
