Eric Cantona Cracker.

So Eric Cantona literally called PSG a village rich man, only known to his villagers … i die!

Nimeona kspot imerudi, kuumeria kuumeria

Nobody could have said it better than Cantona himself. Being French, living in Paris and being a football god.

Cantona to me represents my great youthful years where the weekend was capped off by sneaking to a private members club (the only place that had dstv after KBC stopped airing EPL) and watching Man Utd win. Cantona didn’t score many goals but sparked everyone around him to reach their best. However as much as he didn’t win the top scorer prize, he compensated that by scoring at important times for the team and mostly big matches. Any big fixtures he would turn up unfazed and completely ran the opponent’s rugged. The aura on him was intoxicating to the other players and lifted the team to great heights. He was a showman with his untucked shirt collar and mastery of the ball. The game of the season was Man Utd vs Liverpool and Cantona always scored on that game. He even said that was the game for him in any season. Sir Alex was a genius to sign him. I will never forget the announcer, Keane, Cantona, Keane back to Cantona, Cantona…Cantona…Cantona…CANTONA…CANTONAAAAA…WHAT A GOAL… Surely the Premiership remains with Man Utd. Sir Alex revolution at Old Trafford is complete.

Just came in ma pants. Football porn.

Some of you are as old as the berlin wall. How crazy it must be that you have lived through all the football modernizations especially the ball. Ball ya kitambo I see used to be the leather ball ile ilikuwa inaabsorb maji inakuwa mawe.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D God knows why, when we came to this earth and when he is expecting us back.

Cantona was eccentric, not the hardest trainer but a football genius on the pitch. He hadn’t scored for 9 matches and we were away to the season leaders and title contenders Newcastle. Sir Alex gave his signature electric team talk and the players were excited. A lot of people questioned why Cantona should start but he always started. On the way to the pitch Cantona walked to Sir Alex and joked, “so I should kick the ball into the net right? Its been I while I may have forgotten” only Cantona had the balls to do that and Sir Alex laughed. He knew he was in the right mindset for the game. On the pitch the players were whispering what those two were talking and laughing about. Some said he said he will score five goals, others said they heard a goal every half. Within 5 mins a spark from Cantona and he scored with his first touch. Newcastle were rattled. Their response didn’t materialize in the first half. 5 mins into the second half he all but ended the game with his cool finish for a second goal. From there on the his already huge legendary status grew in the locker room. Never fazed with the big stage but owned the big stage. After 5 glorious years at Man Utd with 5 major trophies and at his peak, he surprised the football world by retiring at the top. He was vindicated, the next season we struggled without his spark and an unknown Wenger under Anelka won the league. Sir Alex retired that whole team except Keane/Giggs and gave class of 92 a chance. With them came three new singings. The baby face assassin from Norway, Cole and Yorke. Cole, Yorke, Schools, Giggs, Beckham combined to form perhaps the best attacking team ever in the Premiership. We won it back and the domination continued.

We nicknamed a little boy Eric Cantona the King back in 95. We all played with our collars turned up.
