I work with Excel a lot and I have issues with links breaking. I’m connected to a LAN and the files I link to I have access. Like now I’m getting error "Sorry we couldn’t find .xlsx. Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted? " which I know nothing has been changed.
It doesn’t happen all the time so wondering what I’m missing.
As guka says explain to me like a 2 year old.
You already have your answer or the computer you’re are linking from was probably renamed or moved from the network.
That is what I’m saying. Nothing has changed. And it only affects some spreadsheets.
Are you using active directories? Maybe related to account refresh, thus revoking your access, does it happen at regular intervals? Does it happened after the domain controller is rebooted?

Ask your IT guy to deal with the active directories refresh.
